Orthopaedic Physiotherapist
Elisabeth holds a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy degree from Dalhousie University. She has worked primarily in orthopaedics including private practice clinics, return to work conditioning programs, and inpatient and outpatient orthopaedic/cardiorespiratory hospital departments throughout southern New Brunswick and the Lower Mainland. As a volunteer, she has worked as head athletic trainer for the Saint Mary’s University Varsity Women’s Soccer Team and as assistant athletic trainer for the Dalhousie University Varsity Women’s Soccer Team. She has recently been trained in the new trends in the prevention of running injuries and is considered a running specialist by The Running Clinic.
She is currently pursuing her Diploma’s of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. Having completed her Level 1A designation with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada Institute and since practising acupuncture in New Brunswick, she is keen to achieve her Level 2A/3A courses so as to attain her CAFCI designation to be eligible to provide acupuncture services in British Columbia. She has a keen interest in post graduate education and believes in evidence based practice so as to provide optimum physiotherapy services to the public.
Elisabeth is passionate about assessing how postural dysfunction and abnormal movement patterns affect one’s physical function. She uses a holistic treatment approach, integrating her knowledge of manual therapy, exercise, movement retraining along with sport and return to work specific conditioning to help motivate her clients in achieving their personal goals. When not at work, Elisabeth enjoys skiing, playing badminton, soccer, and volleyball, running, attending yoga and zumba classes along with travelling and spending time with her friends and family.
