Carlie Rompre, Physiotherapist
(BHKin, MPT, CPT)
Orthopaedic Physiotherapist
Carlie completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at the University of British Columbia after obtaining her Bachelor of Human Kinetics. She has a comprehensive athletic background which includes playing for the UBC Varsity Women’s Ice Hockey team, instructing ice hockey camps, and volunteering at various sporting events such as the 2010 Vancouver Olympics and the National Netball Championships. To supplement her career, she works part time as a Personal Trainer and as a Therapist for the Meraloma Rugby Club. Carlie has worked primarily in a private practice setting and has treated a wide variety of sports, work and motor vehicle injuries.
Carlie’s interest in sport has motivated her to continue her post graduate education as she is currently pursuing her Sports Physiotherapy Certificate as well as her Diploma of Advanced Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy with the Canadian Physiotherapy Association. She has a particular interest in working with athletes as she understands the biomechanics of various sports and the functional requirements for returning to play. Carlie views every patient as an athlete. Her goal is not only to rehabilitate but also motivate people to return to activity; whether it be sport, work or leisure.
Carlie assesses her patients as a whole, identifying abnormal movement patterns along the kinetic chain and extrinsic factors that may be contributing to an injury. Her treatment approach combines manual therapy, soft tissue techniques, exercise prescription and taping to assist her patients in reaching their goals. She values fitness and motivates her patients to incorporate meaningful activity into their daily routines to prevent future injuries.
When out of the clinic, you can find Carlie on the mountain, in the rink or at the gym. She is actively engaged in snowboarding, playing ice hockey, weight lifting, hiking, running, rollerblading, dancing and biking.
