Ergonomics
Ergonomics is “the study of the relationship between people and their working environment”. Ergonomics focuses on the human as the most important component of the office and adapts the office to the people involved. Our ergonomic services address both the patient and their working environment.
The provision of an ergonomics service begins with proper assessment and treatment of the patient. In addition to their standard physical therapy assessment and treatment, patients requiring ergonomics services discuss their working environment.
Clients are given specific education about the demands of their job. Individualized solutions in the form of exercises, environmental modifications and behavioral strategies are provided.
Prolonged absence from one’s normal roles is detrimental to a person’s mental, physical, and social well-being. A safe and timely return benefits the patient and his/her family by enhancing recovery and reducing disability.
